Shula's Steak House now offers free appetizers with drings every Friday night from 5pm to 6pm. Sit at the bar & enjoy two for one drinks and free appetizers while listening to live jazz music.

Teen Outdoor Movie Night

Naples is known for their fine dining, world class shopping and miles of pristine white sand beaches. For years it was known as a mecca for the leisure of retirees. These days, activitites are also being planned for families & teens. For example, this Saturday, on May 30th, the City of Naples presents the Teen Outdoor Movie Night being held at the Cambier Park Bandshell. It is Free Admission. The featured movie will be Transformer. So bring a folding chair or a beach blanket and come out to Cambier Park and enjoy a movied played on a two story inflatable screen. If you happen to be staying at the Hilton Naples, we will provide complimentary beach chairs for you. There will be concessions by Regina's offering Hot Dogs, Pop Corn & Ice Cream.

First Tuesday Trolley Hop

Come on out and celebrate the First Tuesday Trolley Hop on Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Shula's Steak House is one of many local businesses sponsoring the once-a-month event to help bring people together during the summer months. Each restaurant will provide drink & appetizer specials while artwork from Alan Brown Gallery will be on display at each of the locations. In celebration of the inaugural hop, all locations will be providing hors d'oeuvres for "hoppers" between 5pm and 9pm.

The Trolley Hop is free and open to the public. The trolley will be picking up and dropping off participants every half hour at each location. "Hoppers" can board at Shula's or Flemings Steakhouse.

7th Annual 2009 Paradise Coast Tourism Star Awards

Our Hilton Naples team recently attended the annual 2009 Paradise Coast Tourism Star Awards to recognize the true heroes of hospitality in our area. The 7th Annual Awards Ceremony recognized the team for the following honors:

The Hilton Naples was also selected to win the Reel Star award which acknowledges a tourism partner that has distinguished itself as a film friendly location through work with the CVB’s film office. Our film commissioner Maggie McCarty received a phone call from a very valued client, a production company out of New York, with high praise for this year’s winner. “We had a lot of changes and long days and the staff was always ready to meet our needs. At the end of the day the crew really looked forward to returning to the hotel for its great service. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating to us and we will be staying with them whenever we’re shooting in Naples.” This comes from the production coordinator for the TV series Wife Swap, regarding their experience at the Hilton Naples.

Hope Haworth, Journey Ambassador, Hilton Naples won the Approachability Award - This award is given to the person who exudes an aura of approachability making people feel welcome, and who is open to communicate on many levels with guests. From arrival to departure, Hope Haworth works to engage every guest in conversation while providing them with information to help make their stay at the Hilton Naples and in the destination a memorable one. Hope’s many wonderful efforts were just acknowledged at the national level when she was awarded the first place recognition award as the Hilton Hotels & Resorts Top Journey Ambassador. She was selected from all the other Journey Ambassador’s in the United States Hilton Hotels system.

HILTON NAPLES IS CITY'S FIRST TWO PALM GREEN LODGING HOTEL

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection announced that the Hilton Naples featuring Shula’s Steak House received the Two Palm Certification under the department’s Green Lodging Program. The Hilton is the first Two Palm designated hotel in Naples. The Two Palm designation certifies that the hotel meets or exceeds the required number of environmental sustainability initiatives implemented since receiving the One Palm certification, and that the new initiatives have produced measured favorable results.

The Hilton Naples has shown a 12-month period of environmentally friendly practices, increasing recycling, reducing water consumption by 20%, dramatically lowering waste, and reducing natural gas and electrical usage. The hotel’s Green Team participated in numerous “green events” such as the Edison Greenfest in Naples.

Additionally, in a recent announcement by Hilton Hotels Corporation, the Hilton Naples was named as the recipient of their “We Care”

Eco-Friendly Achievement Award for 2008.

“Our entire team is dedicated to preserving Florida’s natural resources,” said general manager Clark Hill. “Our goal is to reach the highest level of certification under the Green Lodging Program, the Three Palm designation.”

If you are coming to the Naples area next weekend, stop by the Extreme Volleyball Professionals Tour. The EVP Pro-AM National Tour will be at the Vanderbilt Beach Park in Naples for the second straight year on Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 8:00am to 6:00pm. The traveling two-on-two beach volleyball series, better known as the EVP Tour, features men's and women's professional divisions. Forty to fifty professional teams are expected to compete for the $5,000.00 purse! Admission is free, with plenty of on-site parking.
