June Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico

If your seeking grouper, snapper and king mackerel in the Gulf, you’ll find exciting saltwater angling action year-round in the Gulf of Mexico along the Naples Florida Beaches. June is one of the best months of the year to fish. Although there are many fish species which are regularly caught around Naples, in June the following fish are in abundance: Barracuda, Jack Crevalle, Pompano, Redfish, Shark, Snook & Yellowtail. Although seasonal and weather variations can occur, this is a real good starting point for planning and scheduling your vacation.

Shelling on Naples Florida Beaches

Naples Florida beaches are blessed with beautiful white sand which beckon to all who take pleasure in the wonders of nature. As the tides come and go, they leave behind treasures such as sand dollars, lightning whelks, fighting conchs, fig shells, angel wings and more for the sheller who will pick up the shells left by the receding waters.

The best time to go shelling is about an hour after high tide since more shells will be exposed as the water recedes. Mesh bags are great for shelling as the sand and water can run through. However, small shells can get lost and fragile shells may be crushed by the larger, heavier ones, so bring a smaller plastic bag for these shells.

To clean the shells outside, put them in Clorox for a short time. Large shells such as the horse conch may take an overnight soak to completely clean.

The Hilton Naples welcomes you and invites you to enjoy our beautiful beaches.

A Day at the Beach

Of all the attractions that Naples Florida offers to residents and visitors alike, the beaches that line the shores of Naples are by far the most popular. Whether you go to the beach to relax and read a great book, participate in a game of volleyball or throw a Frisbee, people watch, sun bathe or play in the waves, Naples Florida Beaches will satisfy your desire for fun under the sun.

Parking at City and County beaches is free with a City of Naples or Collier County beach parking permit. If you do not have a parking permit, the cost at some of the beach and boat launch locations is $4 per vehicle, per day. Other locations require coin insertion for extended parking time (.25 for 20 minutes). You can purchase a weekly Beach Parking Permit. The cost for the weekly parking permit is $50. You will need to provide the following information: Make, Model, and Tag Number of your vehicle. For more information call 239.213.7120.
