KID FRIENDLY PLACES IN NAPLES

It is almost officially summer... what do we do with the kids?

We all know that zoos are great entertainment for kids, but there are many things to explore for adults, as well. You can watch the wild shows in the Safari Canyon. Walk along the glass walls and get close to rare predators. Embark on a catamaran for a guided journey through tropical islands of apes, monkeys, and lemurs. The zoo is located at 1590 Goodlette-Frank Road and open from 9:00am to 5:00 pm every day, except Thanksgiving & Christmas. Allow yourself 4-5 hours to completely enjoy the animals, botanicals, presentations, and cruise

Bowling is family fun. This can be done at Bowland, located 5400 N. Tamiami Trail, 2 minutes from the Hilton Naples Florida Hotel, north of Pine Ridge Road.
Cruise Naples is a water adventure for children as well. Kids will love to see the dolphins play in the wake of the Double Sunshine. You will also see pelicans and bald eagles. You can also jet ski, go fishing, or boat to an island for shelling and/or picnic. The boat leaves from Tin City.
Coral Cay Adventure Golf is located on the East Trail . Relax and enjoy playing minature golf in a peaceful, tropical setting, complete with caves and waterfalls. Open every day from 10 am- 11 pm . The island setting hits the spot for entertainment and fun.

The Children's Garden in the Naples Botanical Gardens is a carefree world full of flowers, butterflies, and secret discoveries. Splash around in jets of water spraying from the boulders, play at the beach, or explore a waterfall cave. Scale the treehouse or go on a scavenger hunt in the Hidden Garden. This natural ecosystem can be found 4820 Bayshore Drive off 41 East.
King Richard's Family Fun Park is located on 6780 N. Airport Road. The park features a variety of entertainment and services for families and friends, including a go-kart race track, laser tag, an alligator pit, rock climbing wall, and 30 foot Dungeon Drop.
Naples Depot is set in Naples first train station and lets visitors experience first-hand the travel arrangements of old railroads. Exhibits and relics tell the story of how railroads helped Naples get up to speed. Located in Downtown Naples on 1051 5th Ave. S., it tells the history of how trains reached SW Florida in the early 1900's.
Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center is a 6,500 square foot center that features hands-on experiences, 2,300 gallon aquarium, interactive exhibits, as well as a nature store and picnic area. It is located on 300 Tower Road, a reserve featuring 110,000 acres of pristine mangrove forest, uplands, and protected waters.

Sun-n-Fun Lagoon is a million gallons of water fun. It is located inside the North Collier Regional Park on 15000 Livingston Road. The lagoon's variety of water features will keep the kids busy for hours! Amenities include water-dumping buckets, water pistols, a family pool, an interactive water fountain, tadpole pool (little ones), interactive water fountain, lap pole, lazy river with tubes, and 5 water slides. "Tis the season..." to Golf in Naples Florida!

There comes a time when all good things must come to an end (really?). We enjoyed such a tremendous tourist season this year. Unfortunately, the carriers are heading North, and our "snow birds" are flying home. For those of us that enjoy beautiful Naples 12 months a year, we still have our beautiful weather, clean beaches, and numerous golf courses. Speaking of golf courses, starting May 1st, the golf courses have lowered their rates. Most courses fall into the $30 to $60 price range for 18 holes. So polish up those clubs and head for the greens!
