Hilton Naples Awarded TripAdvisor Platinum GreenLeader Status

Hilton Naples has been accepted as a Platinum level GreenLeader into the TripAdvisor GreenLeaders program for another year. The GreenLeader program helps travelers plan greener trips by identifying environmentally-friendly accommodations across the United States. GreenLeader levels range from the basic GreenPartner to the top-tier Platinum level. TripAdvisor GreenLeaders have met a set of environmental standards developed for TripAdvisor by a leading environmental consulting firm, with input from expert partners. The more green practices a hotel has in place, the higher its GreenLeader level, which is shown on the property’s listing on the TripAdvisor site. The TripAdvisor GreenLeaders program was developed in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR® program, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the United Nations Environment Program.

How the program works:

  • All hotels must apply and be accepted into the TripAdvisor GreenLeaders Program, and qualify as a GreenLeader or GreenPartner.
  • GreenLeaders have achieved one of four levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. The higher the level, the greater the impact of a property's green practices.
  • GreenPartners have met the program's minimum requirements including having a towel and linen re-use program, using energy-efficient light bulbs, tracking energy usage, recycling, and educating staff and guests on green practices. Source: www.tripadvisor.com
