History is in Naples

Museums in the area are often asked about by the guests at Hilton Naples. Did you know that there are a few right in the area of Naples? Take a look at this list and see if any may spark an interest with you!

The Holocaust Museum & Education Center of Southwest Florida:

This museum has over 1,000 artifacts from World War II and the Holocaust. Their mission is to teach the lessons of the Holocaust to inspire action against bigotry, hatred, and violence. This is a great history for you and your family, but because of the situation, they do recommend for children to be over the age of 12.

Learn about the history of Naples at this museum. This museum offers newly created exhibits and galleries that capture the full panorama of local history. There is an inside exhibit area that has over 10,000 feet of displays along with an outside area that offers a special experience to see how living in Naples was a long time ago.

Naples Depot Museum:

What's better than one museum? Two museums in the same place! Naples Depot Museum is set back to make visitors feel like they are in the Roaring Twenties during the railroad age. It explains how Southwest Florida used transportation and technology during the frontier age. There is also a privately owned train museum right next to the depot museum. At this museum, there are trains to buy, view, & even ride!

Mother's Day Brunch at Shula's Steak House

33rd Annual Taste of Collier is Coming to Town This Weekend!

Taste of Collier is coming to town May 1st! This is a Naples Tradition and features live entertainment, cooking competitions between local chefs, and food samples from over 20 local restaurants. Taste of Collier is perfect for visitors to come out and see whats our county is all about!

Taste of Collier is a not-for-profit event that supports many local charities. Admission is $5 for ages five and up, parking is $5 and food tickets are $1 each. The event will be hosted at Shoppes at Vanderbilt beginning at 11am until 4pm. Shoppes at Vanderbilt is just 5 miles from the Hilton Naples. Don't miss this spectacular local event!

Crawfish Boil THIS SATURDAY Benefiting A Great Cause

The Boys & Girls Club of Collier County is hosting a crawfish boil this Saturday, April 23, beginning at 3pm! Come out and enjoy the fresh Cajun feast while supporting a local charity. This boil is an annual event in Naples and will include live entertainment, kids activities, and of course Cajun food! 

Tickets are $25 with children ages 12 and under free. All proceeds go towards the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County. The Boys & Girls Club is located in South Naples, just 9 miles from Hilton Naples.

Free Outdoor Movie at the Mercato Shops

Mercato will be playing the Disneynature Documentary, Monkey Kingdom, on the lawn this Tuesday April 19 beginning at 8pm. This movie will be taking place across from Naples Flatbread and Yogurbella.
No outside food or drinks are allowed, but Masa Naples will have popcorn, food, beer, wine and soft drinks for sale on the lawn. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and well behaved pets.

Earth Day Celebrations in Naples

Earth Day is April 22nd and Naples is celebrating it all week long!

Start out with Saturday April 16th, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida is hosting an Earth Day Celebration. The festival will be taking place from 10am-4pm and will consist of live music, vendors, food, activities, animal encounters, and more. 
Entry for adults is $10, children 3-12 are $5, and members are free. For more information click here.

On Earth Day, April 22nd, Rookery Bay is offering a buy-one-get-one coupon for families to enjoy all they have to offer. At Rookery Bay, you can go on boat tours, rent kayaks, and visit the learning center where you and your family can get up close with animals from the area. The next day, April 23rd, C'MON Children's Museum is celebrating both Earth Day and their founder's day. Inside the museum, they will offer a bunch of exhibits focusing on Earth and outside the museum they will have activities that fit in perfectly for a birthday celebration. Cinema Days at the Conservancy

This Sunday, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida will be hosting a Cinema Day. This event will be taking place at the Jeannie Meg Smith Theater in Eaton Conservation Hall which is located adjacent to the welcome center and right next to the discovery center.

The documentary being shown is Mission Blue. This documentary is about  about legendary oceanographer, marine biologist, environmentalist and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Sylvia Earle, and her campaign to create a global network of protected marine sanctuaries.

Cinema Day is included in the Conservancy admission for nonmembers and free for guests who are members.

Dirty Dancing is Arriving in Naples

Come have the "time of your life" at the Artis-Naples for the next 5 days as they present Dirty Dancing from April 5th- April 10th. Every day, they have an evening performance except for April 9th and 10th when they have both a daytime and evening performance. 

This show tells the well known story of Baby and Johnny, two independent young adults from different worlds who come together in what will be the most challenging and special summer of their lives.
